A Message From Our Pastor

"From the Pastor's Point of View"

To overcome means to conquer; to prevail, as to overcome obstacles. To be an over-comer is to be in Christ and to learn to conquer the difficult challenges that life may throw our way.

Four promises are given to the overcomer in the book of Revelation:

  1. The promise of eternal life...(Rev. 2:7)
In this passage, Jesus is saying He will give the reward of eternal life to the person that has proven himself to be faithful in keeping the Word of God.

  2. The promise of escaping the second death...(Rev. 2:11)
The over-comer who has stood firm will escape eternal punishment and eternal seperation from God.

  3. The promise of ownership and citizenship with Christ...(Rev. 3:12)
Jesus tell us in this passage of scripture that the over-comer has a right to belong to God's eternal Kingdom.

  4. The promise of ruling and reigning with Christ...(Rev. 3:21)
What a glorious time that will be for the faithful over-comer! Remember the faithful words of Paul in 2 Timothy 2:12, "If we suffer, we shall also reign with Him..."

I will leave you with these powerful words spoken from the apostle Paul, a man who knew what it meant to be an over-comer for Jesus Christ:

"The Spirit Himself testifies together with our own spirit (assuring us) that we are children of God. And if we are (His) children, then we are (His) heirs: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ; only we are to share His sufferings if we are to share His glory. (But what of that?) For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth being compared with the glory that is about to be revealed to us and in us and for us and conferred on us." (Romans 8:16 - 18)

What about you? Are you an over-comer?
